- MADELINE BRYER, a former psychiatric social worker and a crime victim herself, MADELINE BRYER has been in the forefront of fighting for the rights of crime victims since her attack in the 1970's. With money that she procured from her lawsuit against her landlord for negligently securing her apartment, she left her position as a social worker at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital to attend Brooklyn Law School. A phi beta kappa graduate from the University of Maryland with a Social Worker’s degree from Columbia School of Social Work, Madeline graduated from Brooklyn Law School with honors. After working as an associate in top plaintiff and defense firms, she started her own practice in 1987.
