Dedicated to preserving the maritime history of Vietnam with an emphasis on the art, craft, lore, and history of traditional Vietnamese wooden boat building.
The Vietnam Wooden Boat Foundation's (VNWBF) major near-term goal is to oversee the building of as many traditional and unique Vietnamese boats before the master craftsmen who built them are gone. We will document each project with video and written records and make them available to the public for education and the historical preservation of these boats.
We invite you to submit pictures of traditional Vietnamese wooden boats to display on this website, pictures which you may have taken during a trip to Vietnam or which may have been taken by relatives. Ideally your pictures can be identified by the year and the city/town/village where they were taken. We will credit each photo submitted.
