The View From the Bleachers was born on October 27th, 2003 in response the Cubs magnificent 2003 season. The season was by far the most exciting and most painful season I have ever gone through as a Cub fan. Then, on June 24th, 2006, Rays of Light was born in response to the dreadful season that plagued the Cubs. I decided that I needed an AL team and the Devil Rays were it. Since that day, I have tried to maintain consistently updated sites with quality reporting and commentary. At times that has been a tall order based on the performance of the team, but it's one we've always tried to accomplish. We may say things that you don't always agree with, but we'll always listen to what you have to say. Here is a brief description of the staff.

Joe Aiello - The founder of the site, and perhaps the most optimistic of the writers. If there is a positive spin on the Cubs, it will probably come out in his posts. He runs the day to day operation as well as all marketing and advertising issues.

David Beyer - Dave has been writing for VFTB since April 8th, 2004. He adds a unique flavor to the mix with humorous hyperlinks and various strange musings. He is generally somewhere in the middle of the optimism / pessimism scale and really enjoys the history of the game. One of his best articles can be read here.

Tommy Marker - VFTB chaplain, Tommy Marker also brings a great optimism to the site. Tommy has been with VFTB since April of 2005 and many readers really enjoyed a series he put together called Though Cubs Eyes.

Chris Troha - Signed onto the site the same time Tommy did and brings a slightly pessimistic / realistic perspective to the site. Chris does not sugar coat things. He tells them the way they need to be told and doesn't hide his displeasure for Dusty Baker.

Mark Strickler - Mark joined the staff in the offseason of 2005 and brings the most pessimism toward the Cub's management. He loves the Cubs and wants them to succeed but does not feel like that will happen until the management is replaced.
