Vintage Sleds.com is about you and your sick addiction to old snowmobiles. Of all the possible hobbies a person could pick, you had to pick an obscure one, didn't you? You just HAD to be different. Well, I have to admit it sucked us in as well - so here we are.
We just can't stop talking about, working on, playing with, riding, writing about, arguing about, wrestling with or banging out heads on these old, sometimes rusty pieces of machinery? Why? Who cares as long as we are having fun. Really, fun is what vintagesleds.com is all about. Fun, old sleds and YOU!
Vintagesleds.com was created by Larry Preston in 2000. He had just posted a few old pictures he had of some 70's racing sleds. He was a little stunned by the almost instant reaction he got - lots of emails - looking for more. He registered the domain name vintagesleds.com and just started keeping a log of his experiences with the hobby. The site picked up traffic, via a word of mouth, and less then a year later was arguably getting more traffic then any other site on the Internet dedicated to rusty old snowmobiles.
