At our quarterly meeting last summer we handed out colored construction paper, scissors, tape, staplers and markers. Everyone broke into teams and had 20 minutes to make their VITAL FACTOR measuring instrument. The best team won prizes. This quarterly theme helped us focus on MEASURING WHAT MATTERS MOST. While the instruments looked like thermometers or blood pressure devices, each person labeled them with their key vital factors. The whole exercise was fun and it tapped into our creativity and focus on the actual VITAL FACTORS in each of our areas of responsibility. We posted the vital factors on a board for all to see and now track them. This has helped all of us focus on our priorities.
