Voices of Christ Literary Ministries International, formerly the Voices of Christ Prophetic Poetry Team, was founded in January of 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia. The ministry originally started under a mandate by God to save souls for Jesus Christ by delivering the gospel through the dramatic interpretation of scripture and Holy Spirit inspired poetry, spoken word and creative writing.
Today, VOC is a ministry committed to training and equipping God’s creative writers for the work of the ministry while providing them with a strong support system built on mentorship, love and affirmation. Although the poetry team is still in operation, the ministry focuses on on all forms of creative writing and offers a unique series of classes on writing creative Christian literature.
In particular, the organization has an online ministry on Yahoo Groups called "The Scribal Anointing"; Hosts a Christian radio broadcast called, SPOKEN: In praise, poetry and spoken word; Hosts a bi-annual writing retreat called the 2007 Christian Prophetic Writer's Retreat, and teaches through a unique training series called, The Scribal Anointing.
Voices of Christ has been called a pioneer in the "ministry" of creative writing. It was founded by Theresa Harvard Johnson, a published author, ordained/licensed minister, freelancer and award winning print news reporter. In addition, VOC has chapters across the US.
