Our mission is to encourage social interaction through the creation of an online community based on the exchange of information and advice. We offer a distinctive place and opportunity for friends, family and coworkers to keep in touch not only through traditional internet text based forms of communication, but through our voice based call feature. This new feature allows people to get answers to their questions, keep in touch with friends, and get paid for giving advice.
Vonity is a peer-to-peer website, and similar to eBay, doesn’t sell anything but merely facilitates transactions. Each expert, based upon his or her knowledge and experience, collective ratings, and demand for his or her expertise, will post a per-minute fee within a Vonity profile. Information seekers must pay this per-minute fee to speak with the expert. Vonity takes a small percentage of every transaction. Ancillary revenue streams include paid options for experts to better promote themselves within the Vonity marketplace, as well as transaction fees associated with a free “expert API” (application programming interface) for use outside of the Vonity marketplace.
First, seeking fast and quality technology-related information is difficult. Web searches often retrieve outdated, inaccurate, advertising-soaked and redundant information - particularly given the rapidly change pace of technology. Even relevant web searches tend to lack depth and focus. Beyond the web, locating information or expertise requires significant time and cost. Vonity allows information seekers to bypass this painful process by immediately locating and connecting with an expert possessing the desired information.
