- Much of the East is in for a messy Tuesday as two systems will merge while moving through the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Ample moisture from this consolidated storm will provide rain showers from the Mid-Atlantic coast through the Northeast. As the storm continues on its northeastward track through New England, rain will increase in the Northeast while decreasing in the Mid-Atlantic. In the colder air close to the storm’s center, snow is likely from the Tennessee Valley through the Ohio Valley. Lake effect snow showers are also possible near the eastern Great Lakes.
