About WaterfrontJapan.com

When Japan's prime minister Taro Aso dissolved parliament to make way for the Aug. 30 election it was an act of desperation and Aso has a good deal to be desperate about. Unless something unforeseen happens to dramatically change what is written on the cards -- and with a month to go before voting day that's always possible -- Aso is going to have the unfortunate distinction of leading the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) into its first significant defeat for 50 years.
