Description

FBN Press, Ltd.'s EDDIE'S BOOK EXCHANGE is an outgrowth of our Estate & Liquidation Depts. We use it to market items that do not fit into the standing book and manuscript collection of FBN's Publisher. As such you will find over time anything from books to jewelry; furniture to record albums; the rare; the bizarre; the unusual.

FBN Press started in the early 1970s as an alternative press. In the early 1990s it purchased Kansas City's Eddie's Bookstore Chain (est.1962) and in the late 1990's Sholley's Bookstore (est. during the Civil War) making it Adair County’s Oldest Existing Business. The Book Exchange is the publishing house's retail arm and buys or trades an average of 1000+ items a day - also doing appraisals & restorations; working with retail liquidation, estate purchases, auctions, and directly with the public and other publishers.

The publisher is himself a member of a colonial family that has long been influential in American Politics, Education, and Publishing. Over the Last 100 years they have come into possession of literally tens of thousands of items and photographs relating to Osteopathy; State, Federal, & World History; Classical Texts; and Pulp literature. These items were added to the Publisher’s Research Collection of Historic Documents between 1994 & 2001 and housed at its facility in Kirksville, Missouri until portions of the collection were irreparably damaged by workmen under the direction of the Kirksville City Manager in May of 2002.
