Whole World Foundation: Investing in lasting footprints.

Whole World Foundation (w2f) believes that a good story well told, can truly make a difference in how one sees the world. Whether it is a feature film, documentary or other form of media, w2f exists to deliver compelling, entertaining stories that also create awareness of the real issues that shape our lives. w2f seeks to entertain audiences first, while simultaneously engaging them in making a difference. w2f believes that people want change and that everyone deserves the chance to be a benevolent part of the world in which they live.

Canadian In April 2007, w2f was established as a registered charitable organization in an effort to initiate new and innovative financing models for feature film and television projects, which inspire creativity and simultaneously provide for the general welfare. w2f’s desire is to achieve cross-platform ‘brand win’ scenarios for a global range of benevolent charitable organizations, as well as donors, investors and filmmakers. The highly respected, Vancouver-based Benefic Group serves as counsel to w2f.

Integral to w2f’s mission is our commitment to creating specific social action campaigns for each arts project. These campaigns are designed to give a voice to issues that resonate within the story. w2f will partner with social sector organizations, non-profits and corporations who are committed to creating an open forum for discussion, education, and with those who can, in partnership with w2f, offer immediate ways for participants to get involved and to take action.

July 2008 will see the unveiling of two distinctive w2f initiatives; LastingFootprint.org, which will introduce filmmakers and social action campaigns; and TheOneDollarProject.org, which will raise funds, one dollar at a time, which in turn will be returned to the community as both grants for films and funding for social action campaigns.

w2f's ApplauseMeter.org is set to preview in August 2008, and will provide a forum through which the arts community and benevolent organizations worldwide can rate themselves; and GrassrootsGreenlight.org.

Featured Text -- One of the great opportunities that a wiki like AboutUs provides is the ability for easy updates to your information. With the easy of use of the "edit" button, wikis really are places that "anyone can edit," putting the power to make changes in people's hands, rather than some web designer. As the "AboutUs" concept has grown, we've seen that some companies are even foregoing their own "About Us" pages to instead link to AboutUs as a more easily editable page with their information. One organization doing this is the not-for-profit WholeWorldFoundation.org. Commonly referred to as w2f, Whole World Foundation initiates "new and innovative financing models for feature film and television projects," including funding and support for w2f programs like GrassrootsGreenlight.org which funds first-time filmmakers, TheOneDollarProject.org which matches funds up to $10,000 for short films, and ApplauseMeter.org which will preview in August and will archive and highlight filmmakers and benevolent organizations with provide inspiration around the world. We at AboutUs are pleased that w2f is linking to their WikiPage as the source of information about their company and are excited to have others continue to follow in this trend.
