What is a favicon?

A favicon is a small, square image that is often a variant of the website's logo. A favicon shows up beside the URL of a website in the URL bar and beside the title tag of a web page in a tab in most modern web browsers.

Why should my site have a favicon?

At the very least, a favicon is another place for visitors to a website to see its branding. Beyond that, the presence of a favicon can be another way to confirm that they are on a thorough and professional website.
