Colin and Kimberly Fritzler, proprietors of WINDROCK Inc are one of the top breeders of show & performance greyhounds in North America. Highly successful, the couple's WINDROCK greyhounds have amassed a enviable record of multiple BIS/SBIS/HIT and BIF accolades as well as producing many #1 ranked winners in both the showring and on the coursing field. WINDROCK is Registered Kennel with the AKC and the Fritzlers have been involved with dogs for almost three decades as husband and wife. In that time they have set many breed records and each year, WINDROCK bred greyhounds are often found at the top of show and/or field rankings. In 2008 alone, both the #1 AKC and ASFA Greyhounds were WINDROCK bred!
WINDROCK is a small home based operation that adhers to acode of ethics. As responsible and dedicated breeders, WINDROCK recognizes and follows strict guidelines to ensure that not only are their greyhounds beautiful and functional, but that they are healthy and long-lived with sweet gentle temperments. WINDROCK performs thorough health screening OFA/CERF)and DNA profiling is done to insure bloodline intigrity. As ethical and responsible breeders, they practice "full disclosure" when discussing the merits of their greyhounds with buyers and other breeders.
WINDROCK greyhound's impressive achievements achievements are testimony to their dedication and a credit to those breeders who have generously shared important bloodlines that played a vital role in developing WINDROCK's pedigrees.

The goal at WINDROCK is to breed beautiful, functional greyhounds that are healthy with a sweet gentle character. We do not breed on whim or fashion, but rather for soundness, health and breed type. As a result, WINDROCK dogs are not only top winners in the show ring, they also excel in many kinds of performance events and have the desired gentle disposition to be the best of companions in the home.
As responsible and dedicated breeders, Colin and Kim recognize the importance of greyhound health. WINDROCK breeding stock is thoroughly health tested (OFA/CERF) as well as DNA identified and microchipped. Breeding with a vision of excellence, the Frizlers make informed decisions by consulting with other experienced breeders and by carefully researching pedigrees, and by health screening. Passinate to the needs of all greyhounds, WINDROCK is also active in re-homing rescues and ex-racing greyhounds.

Welcome to WINDROCK! Here you will meet the proprietors, a husband and wife team of more than three decades, Colin R. and Kimberly A. Fritzler. Colin attended the University of Wyoming where he studied Architectural Design. Colin has designed and helped construct many of the beautiful homes in Laramie, Wyoming area and is the 'Dad' to all of the beautiful Greyhounds and English Springer Spaniels that live at WINDROCK Inc.
Kim earned a BA from the University of Wyoming as well. Kim has won many national awards for her wildlife art and is an exceptionally gifted dog handler and trainer. She has shown Greyhounds to more Best In Show wins than any other owner/handler in the US!
The Fritzler's WINDROCK Inc is located on the Western Slope near Grand Junction, Colorado, an area known for its high desert beauty and extensive mountain ranges. It is a perfect climate in which to raise greyhounds.

WINDROCK beginnings started through involvement in quarter and paint horses, livestock and land interests. Colin and Kim married in 1981 and both are active in AKC events with their English Springer Spaniels and Afghan hounds. They enjoyed considerable success with those breeds and acquired their first greyhound in the early ninties. Colin and Kim have always been involved in dog rescue and and have never turned away a wayward soul.

Charity Work and Donations edit
Colin and Kim are community minded and donate generously to several clubs that help mold the youth of America such as United Way, Girl Scouts of America, Boy Scouts of America the Partners Program and Lions Club. They also donate to many organizations that help the men and women proudly serving and protecting America in the armed forces.
WINDROCK donates to a lot of charitable causes. WINDROCK greyhounds are great therapy dogs. Kim was a 9 year member of the 4-H program and continues to be involved by volunteering in 4-H and other youth organizations. They also take part in the Partners Program, taking kids to show dog events. Kim and Colin try to do as much as they can for community development.

Colin and Kimberly are proud to be one of the top breeders of dual purpose Greyhounds in the United States. Also a registered kennel with AKC, the Fritzlers have multiple Greyhounds with Best In Show, Specialty Best In Show, Best In Field and High In Trial accolades as well multiple #1 winners in the coursing field and show ring. They owned and showed the all top top Champion sire, BIS/SBIS Ch Shazam's The Journey Begins JC "Bubba" to #1 in 1996 & 1997. They also have had a number one winner with "Barc" who was #1 Greyhound dog in 2201 and 2002. Other #1 ranked greyhounds bred by WINDROCK include BIS/SBIS Ch Windrock Ferando, SBIS/Int BIS Ch Windrock Does Your Mother Know JC, and recently Can Ch Windrock Blue Sky Morning was #1 Greyhound in Canada for 2007.
In 2008, WINDROCK had the #1 Greyhound in AKC Lure Coursing and also co-bred the #1 Greyhound in ASFA! They also had top ranked show greyhounds in two countries. WINDROCK bred the winner of the 2007 Grand National, considered by many to be one of the toughest coursing events in the country. "Amber", a diminitive red greyhound was only the second greyhound to have won such an honor in the last 30 years. WINDROC Greyhounds are the perfect all-round dog, both as pets and in shows and track and field events.
The WINDROCK website itself has won many awards and is considered one of the best dog sites on the Internet.
Facilities edit
In 2001 Colin built a very energy efficient and environmentally friendly southwestern style home that was designed with the Greyhounds in mind. Extras such as dyed concrete flooring and in-floor heating were also included.

WindRock follows a strict code of ethics, believing that dogs are meant to be friend to man, and a loyal, loving, life-long companion. Breeders must be responsible if they choose to bring into the world the lives of a breed they love, taking the necessary time and dedication. They must strive to reach only the best qualities, making sure each female is at least three years in age, and that the parents are compatible in not only disposition but genetically. Proof of Health Testing is provided and WINDROCK stands behind the genetic health of each puppy for life. Any dog that leaves WINDROCK, including rescues, is always welcomed back in case it does not work out with the buyer. Last but not least, Colin and Kim are always researching and learning about the breeds they love. As advocates of responsible dog ownership, WINDROCK strongly advises comsumers to educate themselves less they become vicitimized by unethical dog breeders. Colin and Kim stress that good puppies are born every day but it is very important to buy from a respectable breeder. One must ensure the breeder does things like health and temperament screening. A written contract should be offered. WINDROCK stresses the importance of responsible dog ownership. |
