- When a successful businessman lost the use of his legs in a car accident, he discovered an isolation beyond his loss of mobility. There was no longer any place for him in his world. He made his way out of that isolation, in spite of his handicap, and started Handikos, Kosovo's largest local disability assistance agency, to bring others like himself back into involvement with the local world. Now that vision has been caught by numerous international charitable organizations and governments, stepping in to help the disabled of Kosovo with diagnosis, treatment, equipment and family training, leading ultimately to a place in society.
