- The Woods-N-Water News is a family owned outdoor publication which has grown to 'Michigan's Premier Outdoor Publication.' In 1985, a small staff sold advertising for a 16 page tabloid to be inserted in the family's local newspaper the Tri-City Times, based in Imlay City Michigan. The fledgling outdoor newspaper seemed to be enjoyed the local outdoor enthusiasts and advertisiers, and the staff continued to produced the monthly insert they named the Woods-N-Water News. Today, the 16 page tabloid has grown into a 160 page full color outdoor publication, with nearly 70 outdoor writers and photographers contributing each month. It's circulation and readership has soared. The Woods-N-Water News is recognized as Michigan's largest outdoor publication, with an average page count of 160 plus pages and an estimated 100,000 readers each month. Some of the Michigan's very best outdoor writers and photographers consistently contribute to the Woods-N-Water News each month. Most publication have little more than a dozen stories in their issues, not the Woods-N-Water News we publish over 60 stories with full color photo's throughout the publication. Over the year's we have managed to keep the advertising cost affordable for our many advertising customers. And we get them results, with many success stories of our customers selling anything from bows and guns, to real estate and puppy's. In 1986 the Woods-N-Water News staff decided to sponsor their own fall sportsmen's outdoor trade show, the Woods-N-Water News Outdoor Weekend. Each September, the weekend after Labor Day thousands of people have been visiting Imlay City Fairgrounds and the Outdoor Weekend. Nearly 15,000 people came to last year's Outdoor Weekend.
