About the YonkersPD.com Web Site
In 1996 the Yonkers Police Department went on the Internet with it's own web site. Yonkers was the first municipal law enforcement agency in Westchester County, and the third in New York State to have it's own web site. The idea for the web site took hold in December of 1995. Two members of the Yonkers Police Department worked on the design during their own time. After putting the site together they found an Internet Service Provide, Westnet Internet Services, who donated their server space for the site for free. The Yonkers Police web site was online in March of 1996.
As of January 2003 we have moved the Yonkers Police Department's Web Site to a new domain. The name of the new domain for the official web site is http://yonkerspd.com. WestNet Internet Services has provided the Yonkers Police Department with free server space and support for 7 years. Words can not express how grateful we are to them for those seven years.
