- We left Saturday the 17th headed for Lawrenceville, Georgia. We were going to spend a few days with Rocky Scarfone. We arrived at his house early that evening and stayed up talking until the wee hours of the morning. Rocky is the founder of Youth of America. It is an organization he started in 1997 to help troubled youths get their lives on track. He has done various things to help these kids out, among them lots of outreach in his RV (the webmobile), a very active and extensive website, and various call-in shows on Christian radio. I really insist that you take the time to view their website at www.youthofamerica.com . It would be really hard for me to explain all of the work Rock does to help these kids, that is why I really recommend you view the site. He also has his own web-server where he host many, many sites, does web-design and lots of other internet related things. That is how he supports His ministry for the most part. He is also starting a new site called urbanradio.tv to begin getting the message out via audio and video streaming directly on the web. He is doing this instead of the going through the traditional broadcast media for two reasons. First, because by using the web the potential is their to reach so many more people, and secondly because Christian radio, just like the Church that supports it has lost its way.
