Zoilus.com is the online home of Carl Wilson, an editor and critic at The Globe and Mail in Toronto, Canada. His music column (first titled Scene, then Overtones) appeared there for more than four years; he now writes regularly for the Friday entertainment section and elsewhere in the paper. In the past, Carl also has been a columnist for art magazine C, and for Hour weekly in Montreal. His writing has appeared or is upcoming in The New York Times, The Nation, Saturday Night, En Route, This Magazine and elsewhere; he's appeared on MuchMusic, Newsworld, and CBC Radio's National Playlist; and he's been republished in the annual Da Capo Best Music Writing anthology, among others. He lives in Toronto, where he helps run Trampoline Hall, the popular monthly non-idiomatic lecture series. In recent years he has also hosted the biweekly Smokeasy gathering and curated the Tin Tin Tin cross-genre music series. Carl is currently at work on a book about love, bad taste and Celine Dion for Continuum press's 33 1/3 book series, due out in spring of 2007.
