Under the guidance of humanitarian His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, The Art of Living Foundation has helped people around the world discover their inner peace and joy since 1982. The Art of Living Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization within the United States, is one of the largest Non-Governmental Organization accredited with the United Nations (UN), The Art of Living Foundation regularly collaborates with the UN Economic and Social Council to provide guidance on how to aid countries with education reform, disaster relief, economic development, peace initiatives, and conflict resolution, thereby developing a number of initiatives that have bettered the lives of millions locally and globally.
Operating out of 140 countries across six continents, The Art of Living Foundation assists businesses and governments in the creation of programs for children, teenagers, corporations, prison inmates, and others, empowering, teaching, and training them to improve their lives and their communities. Often among the first to provide relief when a disaster hits, The Art of Living Foundation has offered supplies and trauma recovery soon after the September 11th attacks, Hurricane Katrina, the 2005 Kashmir and 2009 Guajarat earthquakes, and the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Not focused solely on recent wounds, The Art of Living Foundation has helped Vietnam War veterans cope with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The Foundation has also encouraged peace initiatives in war-torn Sri Lanka and Kashmir.
