The Department provides the research framework for the engineering study programmes in Medical Biotechnology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering as well as the Chemical and Biological Sciences programmes. The Department is the main player, both for the joint Bachelor programmes and for the different specialisations within the area. The Department employs approx. 60 scientific staff, 40 PhD students and 40 technical/administrative staff.
