Leading with BSES requires a strong volunteer ethos, and a commitment to our joint aims of youth development, wilderness adventure and purposeful scientific research. All our leader positions are voluntary. We believe that this creates a special atmosphere on our expeditions; all the leaders are likeminded and have given up their free time to provide a positive and lasting experience for the young people on our expeditions.
