The BCRAC was established in 1976 as an all-volunteer, one event organization. In 1988 Brooks Eldredge-Martin was hired as the first staff person. In partnership with volunteers, donors, arts groups, community organizations, businesses, industry and government supporters the BCRAC has grown and become an important part of the regional community.
