I'm an American in Paris-a writer/journalist/columnist/blogger at Salon.com, Vogue at Style.com, HuffPo, & more. I've written books, screenplays, and for magazines you have read. It was my dream to live in France my entire adult life until I finally made it happen 6+ years ago. How? Doesn't hurt if you're a little nuts and raring to go. Stuff happened, though not necessarily in this order: My younger daughter graduated from high school and left for college. My husband was writing a book. My mother dropped dead. I closed down and sold my family's two homes in the world, and I became a wandering nomad in France for more than a year before we ended up in Paris. For the back-story, see www.chasingmatisse.com. That was then. Here and now you're getting a combo of solid reporting, my point of view with its international edge, my life in Paris and Parisian culture--the vibe, etc. in France, in Europe, wherever. Whatever catches my interest and imagination are the subjects I choose to cover. I also weigh in on what's happening at home, politically and culturally. Letter From Paris is my vision/my world through expat eyes.
