In 1946, just out of the war, brothers Chester and Dan started a neighborhood tap. By combining their names, they called it "Chesdan's Inn". They began working on new ideas for the business. They decided to start serving food. Dan's sweetheart, Sophie, not only loved him, but also loved Italian food. So, when working on their menu, they went with an Italian/American cuisine, with pizza being their signature item.
