The fantastical yet disquieting paintings of Dutch artist G-BRECHT depict a strange meeting place between nature and human technology: a plane flies through a coral reef, strip lights hang from trees and luminous monitors are to be found lurking in swampy almost prehistoric settings. These are contemporary landscapes or 'Zones' in which the artificial systems of the modern world interfere with a denatured landscape which is anything but picturesque.
