Gcom® has been designing and developing legacy protocol data communications solutions since 1979. Gcom's founder and president has a strong technical background dating back to the University of Illinois ILLIAC IV project in the 1960s and 1970s. He is the original author of many of Gcom's line of product offerings, including X.25, QLLC, and HDLC. His first version of X.25, written in 1977, was the second implementation of X.25 to be used in the United States.
