GreenMedInfo.com exists in order to provide free and convenient access to the biomedical research available today on the therapeutic value of natural substances in disease prevention and treatment.* This website provides physicians, health care practitioners, clinicians, researchers and laypersons with an evidence-based resource through which the potential or actual therapeutic value of vitamins, minerals, herbs and foods can be determined.

GreenMedInfo.com was established in 2008 in order to meet a growing need for unbiased and strictly evidence-based information on the value of vitamins, minerals, herbs and foods. GreenMedInfo.com is advertisement free and not for profit project, deriving the majority of its content from the public domain via Medline: a biomedical and health database consisting of over 18 million records from approximately 5,000 selected peer-reviewed publications covering biomedicine and health from 1950 to the present. While Medline is free for the public to search (through the National Institutes of Health and the National Library of Medicine), the sheer immensity of data it indexes makes it difficult for the layperson and expert, alike, to find relevant data, without investing substantial time and effort plumbing its depths with search engines like Pubmed.

GreenMedInfo.com aims to accomplish three primary objectives: 1) To generate a greater awareness of Medline as the invaluable resource and much overlooked National Treasure that it is. 2) To contribute to the democratization of the information on Medline by acting as a liason in its dissemination to the public. 3) To simplify the task of finding data relevant to alternative & complementary medicine through the creation of two easy to navigate taxonomies - "Natural Substances" and "Ailments" - which provide the data most relevant to those wishing to understand and use natural therapies.*

Given the immensity of the project, and the recent start date, only 20% of the project is complete. Keep up to date with the project by signing up for our monthly email update.
