Infantino.com baby slings recall

Baby carrier manufacturer Infantino LLC has recalled 1 million baby slings sold in the United States and 15,000 sold in Canada after three babies were suffocated while being carried in the Infantino sling.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada announced the recall on March 24, 2010, in cooperation with Infantino.

The government safety groups advised parents and other people caring for babies to stop carrying babies younger than 4 months in two Infantino models: the SlingRider and the Wendy Bellissimo.

Parents in the United Kingdom concerned about whether their baby slings are affected by the recall should check this list on Infantino.com.

Infantino, headquartered in San Diego, Calif., will replace recalled baby slings for free.

Parents and other baby sling users should not attempt to repair these baby slings.
