Entertainment specialty stores offer a wide selection of items to give to all of the people on your list this 2009 holiday season and, if you are really stuck, offer gifts cards to ensure everyone gets what they want.

Great Gifts For No Money

Who doesn’t need more cash this holiday season? Almost every consumer has a pile of cash sitting on the shelves and bookcases of their home and probably doesn’t even know it. Okay, not cash literally, but most people do have entertainment items that can be traded for cash or store credit. Gently used CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, video games and books can be a budget saver for gift givers during this holiday season. Those movies that you haven’t watched in a year, the CD you have already burned into your iTunes library, the game you have conquered and the book you read last month can be recycled for new products or cash.

Think about your movie or music collection for example. Most people have titles that they have not watched or listened to in a long time. These items can mean cash or store credit for you while representing a bargain to the consumer who re-purchases them. The book you have read and enjoyed can bring cash to you and delight to another reader. It’s an environmentally friendly way to get cash for the holidays while recycling your entertainment products.

Most gamers are done playing a game once they have conquered it or they may have upgraded to a newer version of a favorite game. The choice is to let the old title collect dust on a shelf somewhere or to turn it in for store credit or cash toward a new game.

These items can’t be re-sold at every store. Certainly your big discount merchant will not take the box of used CDs, DVDs, books and games off your hands. They are focused entirely on selling new product at new product prices. Entertainment specialty stores, however, are a great source for buying and selling used products. They will give you cash or store credit for your products and while you are there you may even find a used copy of a book or movie that you have been wanting at a fraction of the cost of new. It is a winning proposition for both you and the store. This is one of the major advantages the entertainment specialty retailers have over their big box competitors. Aside from much bigger selection, you can save big by shopping the used racks at these stores and they allow you to recycle your old product for cash.

So, if someone on your list would enjoy the new Dan Brown book, the latest Taylor Swift CD, the "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" DVD or a new game, bring in your old products and you just might wind up getting that special person a great gift for free!

Take a look at what you have in your bookcase, on DVD/Blu-ray and on your CD shelves. You just might have the solution to the tight budget holiday dilemma. Those movies, music, books and games can mean a merrier Christmas for you and the people on your list.

Trendy Gifts for 2009

Finding the perfect gift for those on your list during the holiday season can seem to zap all of your creative energy. You want to find something unique, memorable and something that even the most difficult person to shop for on your list will love. This year, gifts that lighten the mood are especially popular. Collectibles, novelties, gag gifts, hard-to-find items and other trendy items are sure to please anyone on your list.

Entertainment specialty stores offer a wide range of new and used books, DVDS, Blu-ray movies, video games and CDs, as well as trends merchandise.
