Montessori preschool and kindergarten for ages 3-6, serving New Bern, Havelock, Cherry Point, Craven County, NC and surrounding areas.
Our school was founded in 2011 by Mariann Seaman, an experienced Montessori instructor for over 20 years. Mariann is a member of and is certified by the American Montessori Society (AMSHQ.org). You can read Mariann's bio here: About_Us
We subscribe to the following educational beliefs:
- Every child has a right to develop to his or her own fullest potential at his or her appropriate pace
- Children learn through play
- Well designed toys and puzzles stimulate development in reading, writing and math
- Montessori materials, under the guidance of a skilled adult, have the potential to be progressively extended as a child develops, revealing ever greater insights
- Children are not tiny adults. They have their own developmental stages, needs and capacities that must be understood to optimize learning
- Children intrinsically love learning, order and even quiet
