Description
Hi! My name is Charlie Burns. Most people call me "The Cane Guy." I thought you may like to know why I started the White Mountain Cane Company.
In 1992, while I was vacationing in California, I was struck by a wave at the beach. I became instantly paralyzed. After three major surgeries and years of physical therapy, I am able to walk again, albeit with a cane.
I've found it frustrating to find a nice cane to walk with. The canes at the pharmacy and medical equipment stores make you look institutionalized. I felt a cane should be a fashionable accessory, not a clumsy appendage.
