Description
The Messenger Muhammad (SAW) said: "My ummah [nation] will be divided into seventy-three sects; all of them will be in the Fire [Hell] except one." His Companions then asked: "Who are they [the Saved Sect] oh Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet (SAW) replied: "Those who follow me and my Companions."
The Saved Sect (al-Firqat un-Naajiyah in Arabic) is a title and attribute of Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah (ASWJ) - the Messenger Muhammad (SAW) and his Companions (RA).
It is obligatory upon all Muslims to follow their manhaj (methodology), and refer to them for every matter in life. Whosoever deviates from them, follows their own understanding of the Divine Texts (Qur'aan and Sunnah) and innovates their own methodologies will be severely punished by Almighty Allah (SWT):
