Buddha, the awakened one

The original founder of Buddhism, Buddha is referred to as the “Awakened One” or the “Enlightened One”. Buddha pursued what is referred to as the middle road, a life of moderation and cessation from self indulgent desires. Originating in Nepal, the teaching of Buddha reaches all the way around the world.
