Vibration training is an effective alternative or adjunct to your regular exercise program. It involves holding specific exercise positions (like a basic squat) whilst on a vibrating platform. Two main machine types are "lineal," which is an upright, rapid vibration, and "pivotal," which has a "see-saw" motion.
Users range from regular people of all ages, who gain fitness and health benefits, through to elite athletes who use vibration training as an aid to build up muscle strength. A third group of users are the disabled and people recovering from injury or accidents and people with degenerative diseases of the central nervous system like multiple sclerosis. This is called vibration therapy, and makes use of high or lower-force machines as needed.
Vibration machines are used in vibration studios, gyms and health and beauty studios under supervision of an instructor or can be purchased online or in stores for home use. Feel free to add a site to this list if one is missing.
