My name is Phuntsog Dorjay, born in Ladakh (Himalaya). I am in my 30's.Presently I live in Hannover ( Germany), where I work as an independent research scholar on Himalayan Buddhist Art, also teaching English in a school. I did my doctorate in art history from the department of History, University of Jammu (India). Aside from my research work, I'm interested in photography and travel. I am trying to merge these passion and as a result you can find this website. I am also interesting in designing personal websites. I have been taking pictures since last 10 years, when my brother helped me to buy a Nikon F10 analog camera. Since then photography became very important part of my life. In 2005 I have shifted from analog to digital photography. But in certain occasion I am still using analog camera. I hold few exhibitions, particularly on Himalaya in Germany as well as in homeland Ladakh.
I tend to spend all my free time in taking pictures. I love stunning landscape of Himalaya and its people. I have been mostly taking landscape and portrait photographs during my travel to Himalaya and other countries. Back home in Germany I do mostly macro photography, I have setup a small studio at home for this purpose. Insects and flowers are my best motives for micro photography. However, it can be any small object that can fill the frame with interesting motive.
