People First is a self-advocacy group for people with developmental disabilities, driven by these individuals. The name is based on the idea that individuals with disabilities deserve to be seen as "people first", not as disabled people. Groups are formed with the assistance and facilitation of SVS throughout California. Each group is autonomous and develops it's own goals and activities, which are chosen by the membership.
