ServiceCrowd (formerly DesignQuotes) is a local services and quote comparison marketplace in Australia founded by Daniel Duckworth and Jin Wang. In 2009 DesignQuotes launched as a quote comparison service for Web Design and Graphic Design services.
For service providers, ServiceCrowd provides qualified sales leads. The business model has trialled a pay per lead, commission and subsciption model and currently provides a hybrid pay per lead and subscription model.
The ServiceCrowd Directory uses a unique ranking system that scores the service providers according to their defined skill sets. Service providers earn points for projects they complete, reviews they get from customers and for contributing content which demonstrates expertise.
The company has completed three business model pivots and rebranded to ServiceCrowd in 2014. ServiceCrowd provides customers will buyer's guides to help them understand the process of hiring local services and the facility to submit a quote request.
in 2013 the company rasied private investment capital to help the company rebrand, expand its service offerings and improve its software infrastructure.
