The U.S. Green Building Council - Northern California Chapter is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, voluntary organization that educates, motivates, provides resources and advocates for industry transformation to build and maintain sustainable communities. USGBC-NCC is part of a network of approximately 65 USGBC Chapters throughout the United States which represent USGBC in their respective regions. Located in a region which is equivalent to the 10th largest economy of the world*, NCC is one of the largest USGBC Chapters in the country, a recipient of several USGBC Excellence Awards, and the leading green building organization in Northern California. The Chapter is headquartered in San Francisco, and has branches in the Mount Diablo region of the East Bay , Monterey Bay, Sacramento, and Silicon Valley. The leadership team consists of the Board of Directors who oversee chapter policy, an executive director who manages operations and staff, and several volunteer committees that contribute to the development and operation of the chapter's activities.
