July 18, 2005 -- Guidant Corp. is warning that some of its pacemakers pacemakers may need to be checked and, possibly, replaced.
The affected pacemakers include a subset of the following devices, which were made between Nov. 25, 1997, and Oct. 26, 2000:
These devices are of an earlier design generation. They have not been sold or implanted for the last four years, says Guidant in a news release.
