The Australian Stadiums Website begun in 1999 as the Victorian Stadiums Website, the site had information on about 10 major Victorian Stadiums. In 2000, the site expanded to cover all of Australia, and the name became the 'Australian Stadiums' website. In the same year, the www.austadiums.com domain name was purchased. Later in the same year, the site expanded even further, and now included New Zealand Stadiums. Popularity of the site grew during 2000, especially when the site was featured in an article in the Herald Sun newspaper, featured in an OzEmail publication, and provided stadium content to the Official British & Irish Lions Rugby tour of Australia website (www.lionstour.com).
The Australian Stadiums site was re-launched in March 2002 with a brand new look and a range of new features. The site was once again re-launched in October 2002, this time with a truly professional look and back-end. The site completely database-driven and many new features were added. A new dimension was brought to the site with the introduction of the Events Section which lists all major sporting events in Australia including all the major leagues. This has now expanded to become 'Austadiums Sport'. The site continues to expand with new features and content, and the number of visitors to the site continues to rise.
