When I was born in 1965, my parents owned 27 horses. My dad broke horses as well as rode in small rodeos most of his
life. My Mom was more of the haul us kids around to local playdays and some little open jackpots. I started to compete when I was around the age of 8. Before then I was debating on if I liked the whole horse business thing. It was allot of work and I wanted to ride more than work. But my parents made sure we knew there was more to horses than riding. My parents were always encouraging then and still today with my riding. Before I was able to drive myself around my Mom and Dad would haul me around as much as possible. When my Dad had to work, my Mom would load us up and off we went and my Dad would meet up with us later. This picture of Me and my Mom was taken in 1968, at this time my Mom felt like to ride in trail rides I needed a baby sitter and as you can see that was not very appealing to me. I use to be so upset, but you know, now that I have a little girl coming up I will probably be the same way. At this time I was
still debating if horses was my thing or not. They were big and not so easy to boss around. But I stuck with it and enjoy everything there is about horses.
