Description
Bluegrass established its roots in Louisville, Kentucky (yes, the name really does refer to the Bluegrass State) when the principal, Sue Hill, began her career in Information Technology with IBM. An opportunity to partner in her own company led to the development of a software package for Retail/Wholesale companies. At the request of a local mechanical contractor looking for a service management solution, the precursor of Bluegrass for Windows was developed.
As the installed base for this product grew, a concentration of customers developed in the Philadelphia region, requiring a move from Louisville in 1984. Bluegrass Technology, Inc. was incorporated in 1986.
Through the next 10 years the product grew to include full job costing to compliment the service capabilities. An equipment maintenance and costing module was also added giving the company access to the Heavy/Highway industry.
