Title

Chevy Chase Citizens' Association

Description

In 1909 residents of Chevy Chase D.C. established a citizens association to work together on matters of public interest. We've been doing it ever since. In addition to a monthly newsletter and this Web site, we have programs on the third Tuesday of each month from September through May to bring to the community subjects of importance. Our members have heard Mayor Anthony Williams' early assessment of D.C.'s financial condition, questioned the Rock Creek Park superintendent on alternatives for use of Beach Drive, enjoyed an open house to get acquainted with various organizations active in our community, heard candidates for the reshaped school board, and a state of the ward report from Ward 3 Councilmember, Kathy Patterson.

Through the efforts of the Tree Committee of Chevy Chase Citizens Association, and in cooperation with the Trees and Landscape Division of the D.C. Department of Public Works, more that 200 trees have been planted in our neighborhood.

An important new project supported by CCCA is helping to revive the open spaces around the Chevy Chase Community Center and Library following the renovation of the Community Center.
