He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy (yes, he's a Sooner fan). He served as a commissioned officer in the Army Medical Service Corps in Texas and Colorado during the Viet Nam era. After stints as a pharmacist and a real estate agent, he began his best career on the "pro-leisure tour". The "tour" led him to some different continents where he became a jack of several trades but definitely not a master of any, including climbing, skiing, mountaineering, boating, biking, and fly-fishing. While hanging out in Pheriche, Nepal at the Himalayan Rescue Association medical clinic in 1988, he met Igor Gamow, the inventor of the Gamow Bag, and treated a trekker with altitude illness. After this excursion, in 1990, he and climbing guide and partner Brad Johnson became the North and South American distributors of the "bag" and formed Altitude Technologies, Inc. In 1992, Carl bought Brad out and began doing business as Chinook Medical Gear, Inc. After 13 years of educating himself, his vendors, and customers, his ideas have evolved from a lot of S.W.A.G. (scientific wild-ass guessing) to bring Chinook to a place he never would have dreamed of in 1990.

Prior to coming on board at Chinook, Jessica was an Account Executive at Saatchi & Saatchi Rowland in her hometown of Rochester, NY.
