Two families own and operate our adventure company, which has been based out of Campbell River since the spring of 1998. We believe in providing high quality personal service and many of our guests become friends, returning for trips with us every year. We operate all of our trips at a certification level above that required by both the provincial and federal governments.
Jim DeHart is the operations manager and started his guiding career in 1984. He has been a licensed guide since 1988 when the government certification program began.
Jim also holds a wilderness level first aid ticket, is a Swiftwater Rescue Technician and is a certified rafting Trip Leader. Jim is also an Instructor for swiftwater safety courses for Rescue Canada and is a fish & wildlife technician with 15 years experience managing BC provincial parks. He was the Rafting Regulations Officer for BC prior to starting Destiny River Adventures. He currently is the President of the BC River Outfitters Association, past president of our local Tourism Association as well as a director on the BC Wilderness Tourism Association.
