Diagnostic Instruments was formed in 1987 to develop hand portable instrumentation based on newly emerging low power electronic components. The company has a history of innovation, recording many technology firsts through the design of specialist performance devices.
The capability to develop specialist products for niche applications led to the company’s acquisition in June 2000, when SKF purchased the total share capital of Diagnostic Instruments Ltd, placing DI under the SKF umbrella. DI is now the centre of excellence within SKF for portable handheld instrumentation.
