- I was born on the sixth of November 1958 at Steenwijk and soon moved to Giethoorn. At an early age I met the "Artist". Overwhelmingly fascinated by his talent and feeling my own urge to draw, I made up my mind that I too would become a painter. To give this dream professional support, I took lessons from 1978 to 1984 at the " Minerva Academy of Art " in Groningen. Strengthened and filled with skills and knowledge, I stepped into the world and moved to Amsterdam. I soon discovered that there was still a lot to learn. In 1987, I was able to have my first exhibition in a real gallery "Galerie Mokum". And I decided to stay with this gallery forever. In the years that followed my paintings were shown in solo-, group and museum exhibitions. One of Holland's largest banks, ING-group, started collecting my works. In 1992, I settled in France to breathe fresh air. But after loosing a part of my ear, I felt shocked by the overwhelming silence of the countryside. I returned to the city and rediscovered Amsterdam. I could breath again and settled in my old apartment, where I also have my atelier.
