- Gary and Annette DeAngio started the Embroidery Shoppe in 1997. After working in manufacturing for 21 years, Gary became a displaced worker when his employer relocated. Gary helped to start an embroidery business for a friend and then decided to use his newly acquired experience to open up his own business. Annette was working as a social worker up until a year ago, when she decided to leave her job and work in the business full time.
