- Surface of zebrafish embryo skin – a high magnification SEM view of epithelial cells of zebrafish embryo skin at 72 hours post fertilization. This picture, contributed by Marilyne Malbouyres and Florence Ruggiero, won the first prize in the EMBO Journal’s recent contest for the best scientific cover image for 2007. Florence Ruggiero is the head of the “Extracellular Matrix and Development” group at the IBCP in Lyon (France). Her lab is interested in deciphering the function of members of the collagen superfamily, using in vitro and in vivo approaches and zebrafish and mouse as developmental models.
