It all began in January 2005 when programmer and F1 fan Mauricio Gomes was sick of the way all F1 news sites were cluttered with advertising and a lot of them required monthly subscription fees. He wanted a place where he could visit daily and easily read all of the top news stories easily without paying any money. He did not find any site that fit this description.
